When you have to groom a dog that has severe matts here and there you have 2 choices:
SHAVE the coat to get rid of the matts ……..
Or SAVE the coat by brushing away all the matts
Especially since nowadays you can detangle a coat in the same time and with the same effort with the ADB Petite (Automatic Slicker Brush) as you can shave that same coat with an electric clipper.
Personally I love dogs much better in full coat so I will always choose for the option to save coats.
Not only does a full coat protect your dog much better against the burning sun, cold wind and scratches from brambles or fights with other dogs…..
it is also much more enjoyable to give your dog a nice look by scissoring its coat in a nice model.
